What does proofing mean in printing?
A proof is a preliminary version of a printed piece. It provides a close representation of how the piece will appear when printed. Proofs are created to ensure that the client and printer are in complete agreement on the desired outcome before going to press.
What is a proof print?
A print proof (sometimes called a repress) is a prototype to provide an accurate representation of how your design will look when professionally printed.
What is the difference between a proof and a print?
The first “proofs” were either pulled or printed, and the artist had the option to work out the color and quality issues as they came out of the process. The only real difference between the two is the restricted quantity of prints bearing the Artist Proof designation and not the quality of the print.
What is color proofing?
Full-color test print to show exactly how colors will look in the actual final printing. Color proofs are submitted before the press proof, and provide the next-to-last chance to make changes or to correct mistakes. Known also as prepress proof.
What is a large format printer?
Large format printers can print on paper sizes that are larger than typical 8 x 11 or 11 x 17 printer sheets. If you want to produce an oversized advertising banner, stage backdrop, map, or poster, you can use a large format printer to print the entire project on one sheet, including borderless prints, instead of having to print on several smaller sheets.
Do I need a wide format printer?
Wide format printers are useful for printing a variety of visual media. If your office produces any of the following types of marketing or business materials, chances are good that you could benefit from having a wide format printer in your office.
