The NS 8 data cartridge is a multifunctional storage solution with 8GB compressed capacity. The high capacity of Imation technology means your customers can do more than back up their data. Whatever they're doing, Imation gives them the space they need. Backing up with high-capacity Imation Cartridges is simple. They can easily hold the entire contents of a hard drive. And since Imation-compatible drives can read minicartridges, your customers' backup library is still useful. Hardware compression allows total capacities up to 20GB (with Travan NS 20). By compressing data at the drive and not at the main processor results in improved server or workstation performance. Thermally stable cover and baseplate reduce warpage and improve reliability at higher speeds and densities. Imation proprietary back coating protects tape surface from harmful airborne debris. Dura-Stat drive roller dissipates static and extends cartridge life. Shorter tape path decreases exposure to dust and debris, reducing the chance of error and data loss. Patented NEP (No End Play) hub design minimizes vertical tape movement to improve tracking. Acculign baseplate ensures uniform head-to-tape contact across the width of the tape.
