Beware of Dell Printers
If you live in the United States and haven’t heard of Dell then it is quite possible that you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years. Dell is one of the most marketed and advertised brands in the US, you can’t sit down for 5 minutes of television without seeing a Dell commercial or read through any magazine without seeing an ad. They have great deals and offers that make it very difficult for any consumer to deny the savings. Dell printers are very inexpensive and often they even provide them free when you buy an assortment of more Dell products. And let’s be honest, for the price, these Dell printers aren’t so bad, you can get a few years of printing out of them, and by that time you will want to upgrade your printer anyway.
So why then do we say, “Beware of the Dell Printers?” Simple, buying a Dell printer is like giving away all your consumer rights, you no longer have the right to choose who you buy consumables from, who you can get support from, you are now committed to Dell and Dell alone. What do I mean by this you ask, well for starters, Dell consumables or Dell ink is only available from Dell themselves, meaning you as the consumer can only buy original products by ordering from Dell. And have you seen their ink prices lately? Let’s take a popular Dell printer, the Photo All-in-One 924, currently priced at $74.00. Sounds like a good price, it’s under $100 which is always attractive, but now let’s look at the cost of ink for this printer. This printer has 4 possible choices, two which are standard yield and two which are high yield. The standard black and color ink cartridges combined run you about $45 while the high yield black and color ink cartridges combined run you about $57, which by the way I haven’t included tax though they do. So from this information you can see that by your second ink purchase they have already made more on you then with your actual printer purchase.
It is astounding to think that Dell ink is so high, but lets face the facts people, Printer Manufacturer’s don’t get rich by selling you printers, they get rich by selling you the consumables for those printers. This goes for every brand, not just Dell, but with Dell its worse, because with Dell, they do not distribute their ink for resell, so now you the consumer has no choice where to buy your ink from. You no longer can run down to the local Staples or Office Depot for a quick purchase, or a discount online seller such as Bluedogink.com, now you have to do all you’re shopping through Dell.
If that wasn’t enough, our second issue is with support. If you were to buy an Epson Printer or an HP Printer which are commonly sold by most retailers and wholesalers, then common issues with your printer can easily be solved or fixed. Even more complicated issues can be solved through several different options, but with Dell, if there ever is a problem with your printer, then there is a good chance you will have to mail them your printer for their techs to fix. This may take months before you get your printer back, and what are you supposed to do in the mean time?
This is why we here at Bluedogink.com say, “Beware of Dell Printers.” You may be getting a good deal on a printer with Dell, but at what cost over time? One solution to Dell consumables are Dell remanufactured cartridges. We do offer some Dell remanufactured cartridges and encourage consumers to try our product. Many companies selling Dell remanufactured cartridges are having a very high defective rate, this is a common concern among consumers, and truth be told we were one of those of those companies several months ago. However, we have since changed our remanufacturing process to address those problems and currently we have been selling cartridges with no defects. We encourage people to try our Dell remanufactured ink cartridges once so that they will see there is a choice for their Dell consumables.
